Informatie

Functieomschrijving
TNO at Holst Centre works with a range of (pre-pilot) thin-film production technologies that have very interesting potential in the fast-growing domain of Next-Generation Battery Technology. The aim is to employ the unique thin-film background of Holst Centre and the state-of-the-art pre-pilot battery production line to contribute to the development & production of next generation technologies such as high-voltage lithium (sodium) metal batteries, solid-state-batteries and metal-air batteries.
TNO at Holst Centre works closely with the, local and international, ecosystem of battery (component) producers on the development. The aim of the program is to accelerate the much-needed energy transition while concurrently increasing the earning power of (high-tech) companies active in this domain.
In order to accelerate the maturation of developed battery technologies, TNO at Holst Centre is setting up a 4 MWh pilot battery production facility located in Helmond, the Netherlands – called the Open Battery Industrialisation Centre (OBIC) in a collaborative effort with VDL ETS and Battery Competence Cluster-NL. For the cost-effective and timely realization of the OBIC pilot line, we are looking for an experienced (technical) project leader.

Functie-eisen
You will join the Thin-Film Electronics department to develop and realize the department’s program and project portfolio in Next-Generation Battery Technology. The program leverages Holst Centre’s strengths in thin and thick film process technology and is thus actively looking to enable the further scaling of technologies expanding towards Helmond with the new OBIC facility. Your specific task will be to realize the OBIC pilot line by (co-)shaping the specification of building infrastructure and production equipment, organization of the acquisition processes and streamlining technical input to this end, and overseeing the actual realization by/with external and internal stakeholders. In order to be successful in the current project, our believe is that a technical background and experience in realization of technical infrastructure is required.

Your main activities will be to
•Translating primary project plan into tangible specifications for infrastructure and equipment
•Acquisition and realization of infrastructure and equipment according to plan, quality standards and budget
•Interaction with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders – public entities, private suppliers and OBIC partners/end-users - both managing and exceeding their expectations
•Guiding a multidisciplinary team of technically-oriented and service organization-based professionals in a constructive, structured and non-hierarchic fashion
•Developing OBIC infrastructure as well as standard operation procedures (SOPs) that fulfill safety and environmental requirements
•Definition and validation of process flow(s), defining operational parameters, and verifying functionality through initial trial runs
•Maintaining overview of financial and progress, identifying risks and managing risks mitigation actions
