Software Architect Automotive

The job:

VDL Enabling Transport Solutions is responsible for software development in various domains in the automotive sector. For this domain we are looking for an automotive Software Architect to work on automotive platforms for public transportation. We develop heavy, medium and light duty solutions as well as technology for autonomous driving.

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented software Architect with a deep understanding of automotive systems and solutions. The Software Architect is responsible for software development and software integration of all vehicle systems.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful projects and extensive experience in making software decompositions of automotive systems and helps in realizing them. The candidate is part of the software team guiding and coaching the team on technical aspect. As architect you define required standard and development process to enable efficient working flow with expected quality standard in mind. You have knowledge of multidisciplinary systems requirements in a team of architects of these disciplines. You should be proficient in creating high-level work breakdowns and have a strong understanding of managing system complexity.

The software projects are using agile scrum process and as part of the software team you are involved in the daily activities.

Responsibilities:

• Make software decompositions of automotive vehicles and automotive solutions;
• Set up, clarify and review customer requirements, functional requirements, system requirements, electronic requirements, and software requirements;
• Create high-level work breakdowns for projects;
• Understand and manage system complexity;
• Collaborate with other discipline architects to ensure alignment and integration;
• Coach the software team to support the chosen architecture and guard the quality of the work products;
• Ensure successful realization of projects.

Your profile:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field;
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Software Architect in the automotive industry;
• Strong understanding of making decompositions of software/hardware systems;
• Experience/knowledge of autonomous driving / ADAS systems is preferred;
• Ability to set up and clarify customer requirements, functional requirements, system requirements, electronic requirements, and software requirements;
• Proficiency in creating high-level work breakdowns;
• Excellent understanding in the creation of decompensation of software systems;
• Experience in selecting third-party systems for integration;
• Ability to collaborate and align with other discipline architects;
• Social and good communication skills;
• Ability to strike a balance between achieving results and maintaining high quality standards using common and logical reasoning;
• Experience with ci/cd with a high level automation;
• Proven track record in the successful realization of projects.
