Are you an Electrical Engineer or Automation Specialist who enjoys working with PLC systems, electrical installations and complex technical equipment?
Do you like combining engineering with hands-on troubleshooting, testing and technical improvements?
For an international engineering and technology company in the maritime and offshore industry, I am looking for an Electrical Engineer – Industrial Automation.
This is an interesting opportunity for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges and wants to work with specialist machinery and equipment that you won't find in a standard production environment.
About the companyYou will join an international technical organisation that develops, builds, tests and maintains specialist equipment for complex projects worldwide.
The company operates in a highly technical environment where electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and industrial automation come together.
At the technical facility in the Moerdijk region, engineers and technicians work together on the construction, maintenance, modification and testing of advanced equipment.
Much of this equipment is specially developed for demanding applications within the maritime and offshore industry.
The working environment is practical, technically challenging and focused on teamwork.
What will you do?As an Electrical Engineer – Industrial Automation, you will be responsible for the technical reliability and performance of electrical installations and control systems.
You will work closely with engineering and maintenance teams, ensuring that electrical and automation systems function correctly and that technical problems are properly investigated and resolved.
Your work combines electrical engineering, troubleshooting, testing and technical improvements.
Your responsibilities include:
- Troubleshooting electrical installations, PLC systems and industrial control equipment.
- Analysing and resolving faults in electrical circuits, drives, sensors and control systems.
- Investigating the root causes of technical problems and implementing structural improvements.
- Supporting the construction, modification and testing of specialist machinery.
- Working with PLC-controlled equipment and electrical automation systems.
- Reviewing and updating electrical drawings and technical documentation.
- Translating engineering designs into practical technical solutions.
- Supporting commissioning, testing and verification activities.
- Improving the reliability, safety and performance of technical equipment.
- Working closely with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and technicians.
- Providing technical support during equipment preparation and maintenance activities.
You will have plenty of opportunities to work directly with the equipment. This is not a position where you spend the entire day behind a desk.
What are we looking for?We are looking for someone with a strong electrical engineering background who enjoys understanding how technical systems work.
You are analytical, practical and interested in solving complex technical problems.
You bring:
- A MBO or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics or a comparable technical field.
- Experience with industrial electrical installations and control systems.
- Knowledge of PLC systems, electrical drives and automation technology.
- Experience in electrical troubleshooting and fault analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- An interest in complex machinery and specialist technical equipment.
- A hands-on and solution-oriented approach.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work within a technical team.
- Good command of English, both spoken and written.
Experience in machine building, industrial automation, maritime equipment, heavy machinery or technical maintenance would be an advantage.
You do not need to have experience in the offshore industry. A solid technical background and the motivation to learn are more important.
What can you expect? You will join a financially strong international organisation that invests in technology, innovation and the development of its employees.
Employment conditions:
- Salary between €4,000 and €4,800 gross per month, depending on knowledge and experience.
- Direct employment with the company, no temporary agency or secondment contract.
- 30 days of annual leave.
- Excellent pension scheme.
- Performance-based salary increases and bonuses.
- Flexible working hours.
- Extensive technical training and development opportunities.
- Study budgets and professional coaching.
- Company fitness programme.
- Internal events, sports activities and employee clubs.
- A technically challenging position with room for personal development.
This is not a standard Electrical Engineer position focused only on designing electrical systems.
You will be involved in the complete technical process: from understanding engineering designs and analysing technical problems to testing, modifying and improving specialist equipment.
You will work with PLCs, industrial automation, electrical drives, control systems and complex machinery, while staying closely involved with the actual equipment.
If you enjoy combining engineering knowledge with practical technical work, this position offers an interesting next step.
