We are looking for a Security Officer to strengthen the information security posture of a large national organisation that delivers essential services across the Netherlands. You will work inside a dedicated Security & Identity Management team and play a key role in safeguarding the stability and reliability of the IT landscape.
This position offers structure, collaboration, and the chance to make a tangible impact on the organisation’s overall security maturity.
Role Overview
In this role you support and improve the organisation’s security processes. You help identify risks, advise teams, translate policies into practice, and monitor compliance across multiple IT domains.
You will work in a security-focused environment where collaboration with IAM, IT management and service teams is part of your daily routine.

- Monitor, improve, and maintain information security processes
- Identify risks and propose concrete mitigation steps
- Support security-related activities in projects and IT changes
- Handle security incidents and coordinate follow-up
- Advise teams on secure ways of working
- Work within a self-managing team owning its own operational responsibilities
Team & Working Environment
You will join a Security & Identity team of four professionals. Leadership focuses on people and process rather than micromanaging technical content. Responsibilities are shared across a self-managing structure, giving you room to grow and shape your role.
VereistenYour Profile
- Dutch fluent/native
- HBO+/WO level of thinking
- Experience in information security or IT-security operations
- Comfortable advising stakeholders and stepping into conversations proactively
- Clear communicator, structured, and process-oriented
- Able to take ownership within a small, collaborative team
- Salary €4,000 - €6,000 gross per month, based on 40 hours
- 32–40 hours per week, standard office hours: 08:30 – 17:00 (30-minute break).
- Hybrid model with two fixed office days
- Travel allowance
- Good accessibility by car and public transport
- One-year contract with intention for permanent employment
