Technical Mechanic

Looking for technical work where no two days are the same? As a technical mechanic, you'll travel to resolve breakdowns and keep equipment running for a variety of customers. Hands-on, independent work, with room to prove yourself.

You'll join a technical company that produces, installs, and maintains specialized equipment and machinery for the construction and infrastructure sector. The company combines the short lines and personal attention of a small-scale organization with technology that's constantly evolving: alongside service and maintenance, the team also works on new, innovative products for the industry.

You'll work from a fixed home base, but your working days mainly take place on-site at customers in the Netherlands and Belgium. No office routine — instead, a different machine, a different breakdown, and a different team every time. There's room to develop yourself further through training and courses, and to build a broad range of technical experience over time.

As a technical mechanic, you're responsible for repairs and maintenance work, mainly on-site at customers. You respond to breakdowns, diagnose the issue, and ensure the equipment runs safely and reliably again. No fixed workplace and no fixed machine: one day you're at a customer in the Netherlands, the next in Belgium, and each situation calls for a different approach.

This role suits someone who enjoys working with machines and technology, who's been taking things apart and putting them back together since childhood, and who doesn't shy away from a breakdown that isn't immediately obvious. You work independently, think along on solutions, and communicate clearly with the customer.

The work is physical and requires precision and safety awareness, but also offers variety: no day is the same, and you build broad experience in a short time.

• Carrying out repairs and maintenance on machines and equipment, mainly on-site at customers
• Diagnosing and resolving breakdowns
• Ensuring safe and reliable operation of equipment
• Direct contact with customers about progress and solutions
• Traveling to varying locations in the Netherlands and Belgium
• Identifying improvement points and thinking along on practical solutions

• Experience in a similar technical/mechanic role
• Accurate, safe, and independent working, even under time pressure
• A flexible, resilient attitude and practical insight to think outside the box when facing breakdowns
• Driving license category B
• Good command of the English language (spoken and written)

• Gross hourly wage between €16.50 and €20.00, depending on your experience
• Overtime allowance in accordance with the Klein Metaal CAO, calculated over your base hourly wage, for incidental overtime
• 8% holiday allowance, paid weekly
• Travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometer
• Weekly salary payment
• 25 vacation days
• 40-hour work week, day shift with fixed hours (7:30 AM - 4:30 PM, 8 hours work + 1 hour break)
• Work clothing provided
