Chef

We are a Chinese-Japanese restaurant and are looking for an Independent Chef I to strengthen our kitchen team. Do you have a passion for cooking and do you enjoy a dynamic kitchen environment? Then you fit in perfectly with us! You will assist in preparing dishes and work closely with our kitchen team. You can work both independently and as part of a team, and you feel responsible for a clean and organized kitchen. Our restaurant is located at Scheldestraat 99-H, 1078GJ Amsterdam. What are your duties:

• Selecting and preparing (washing, cutting, mixing, etc.)
• Performing interim checks (doneness, taste, color, etc.) and adjusting where necessary
• Ensuring consistent quality and hygiene
• Supervising the work of assistants and correcting where necessary. - Maintaining stock levels, ordering ingredients, and checking deliveries

• Daily cleaning of the work environment, kitchen equipment, and workstations
• Reporting technical defects and resolving simple malfunctions
• Providing input regarding the composition and modification of menus, the menu, and methods.
• You take initiative independently and act in a solution-oriented manner
• You work persuasively and take responsibility
• MBO-3 working/thinking level (Even if you do not meet the requirements, apply anyway!)
• Demonstrable knowledge of basic cooking techniques
