An exciting opportunity to champion regulatory compliance and innovation!
We are looking for a Customs & Foreign Trade Specialist to join our team, focusing on Customs, Excise, and Foreign Trade matters for Imperial Brands and its entities. In this vital role, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring operational compliance within the rapidly evolving regulatory landscape, safeguarding our business against the increasing scrutiny and regulations from authorities. As the Customs & Foreign Trade Specialist your role is critical to our continued success and compliance with national and regional legislation, including maintaining our Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status.
Join us in this impactful role where you'll play an instrumental role in shaping our compliance strategy, driving operational excellence, and securing our operational integrity in a dynamic, regulatory environment!
Principal Accountabilities
· To analyse and act towards upcoming changes to Customs, Excise and Foreign Trade law for products produced in or moving through the Netherlands
· Protect the company’s tactical and strategical interests
· Support, monitoring and influence legal developments
· Reinforcing policies and raising awareness of regulatory customs and trade requirements
· Control and enhance customs & trade compliance by analysing processes and adopting new possibilities or changes in law
· Advise the wider business in terms of customs and trade regulations for EU and Dutch market, and support the group regarding customs, excise tax and foreign trade law
Skills and Experience Required
· Professional level of Dutch and English language skills
· Excellent expertise in EU customs law and tariffication
· Robust background in Supply Chain Management or Economics
· Ability to influence cross-functional teams up to senior management
· Strong confidence operating in matrix-style organisations, combining direct and functional reporting
· Vast interpersonal skills and awareness of intercultural relationships
