MANAGER PRODUCT DEVELOPMENTLead the engine that turns ideas into product that delivers. Lijnden | Product | 40 hours | Full-time

At Just Brands, we build menswear brands with character. PME Legend, Cast Iron and Vanguard each have their own voice, their own audience and their own place in the market. Great collections don’t happen by accident. They’re built through sharp development, strong supplier execution, clear quality standards and decisions that protect margin and timing. Product Development is where creative ambition becomes real product, delivered on time, on spec and ready to perform.

But what really sets us apart is how we work together.

We’re team first. No ego, no unnecessary layers, no endless talking, no corporate theatre. We back each other, speak up, take ownership and keep pushing for better. We work hard, stay sharp and make sure there’s room to enjoy the ride too.

That’s where you come in.

Why this role mattersThis is where leadership meets operational and commercial impact. As our Manager Product Development, you lead the product development team and own the end-to-end development process from concept to delivery. You balance strategic oversight with hands-on involvement, ensuring collections align with brand identity, market trends, ESG and sustainability goals, and company financial targets. You are not here to just “manage the process.”

You are here to raise standards, protect margin and quality, and make sure every collection lands right.

What you’ll do
  • Lead, coach and develop the product development team with clear objectives, feedback and high standards
  • Own the end-to-end product development process from concept to delivery, keeping the critical path tight and delivery on time
  • Oversee collection development to ensure alignment with brand DNA, style direction and margin goals
  • Make and approve key design/development decisions that protect quality, timing and profitability
  • Build a systematic approach to cost and quality control at each development stage, ensuring initial margins are set and maintained
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with international suppliers and partners
  • Lead negotiations on pricing, contracts and delivery terms to optimize value and quality
  • Visit suppliers regularly to assess performance and sustainability practices

What else..
  • Set clear quality KPIs per product category and drive improvements through the development cycle
  • Drive innovation by staying close to trends, techniques and production technology
  • Support the integration of sustainable materials and practices into product development
  • Identify and mitigate risks across the development cycle and continuously improve workflows and processes
  • Provide clear updates to senior management on progress, risks and opportunities
  • Maintain strong documentation of product data, tasks and performance metrics in PDM/ERP systems
  • Keep a strong feedback loop with buying to improve handovers, margin control and product quality

What success looks like in your first year
  • A team that runs with clarity: priorities, standards and execution rhythm are strong
  • Better grip on critical path, costs and quality across categories
  • Stronger margin discipline from proto stage through to final delivery
  • Suppliers performing more consistently through clearer expectations and stronger follow-up
  • Fewer surprises: risks are spotted early and handled fast
  • Development decisions translating into product that lands right in the market

What makes this role exciting
  • You lead a team that directly shapes what customers will wear next season
  • You work at the intersection of brand, product, supply chain and commercial performance
  • You get ownership of quality, margin and timing, not just “process”
  • You influence supplier strategy and development innovation at scale
  • You build how product development should work as the business grows internationally

You’ll probably love this role if you…
  • enjoy leading people and raising the bar through clear standards and coaching
  • like balancing creativity with execution, costs and timelines
  • get energy from solving issues early and keeping things moving on the critical path
  • are comfortable making decisions in the grey area and owning the outcome
  • care about product quality, but also understand what margin and timing mean in real life
  • like improving systems and ways of working, not just maintaining them

What you bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Business Administration, Supply Chain or a related field (advanced degree is a plus)
  • 10 + years of experience in product development and purchasing within fashion/apparel
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience, managing and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong understanding of product development, sourcing strategies and supplier management
  • Proven track record of developing and launching successful products
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing international supplier relationships
  • Strong systems capability (PDM/ERP) and structured documentation discipline
  • Analytical mindset and confidence using data and market insights to steer decisions
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to align cross-functional stakeholders

What Just Brands is really likeWe’re team first. We challenge each other on quality, margin and timing, make clear decisions and take ownership. No ego. Just practical collaboration, high standards and a team that enjoys building better product together.

You’ll join a company where:

  • People help each other out
  • Ideas and people matter more than job titles
  • Hard work matters, and so does enjoying the ride
  • If something can be better, we improve it

What you getYou step into a key leadership role with real ownership over development performance. You’ll lead a team, shape supplier execution and build collections that meet brand ambition while staying sharp on margin and timing.

  • Salary depending on experience and background;
  • End-of-year bonus equal to one gross monthly salary;
  • Healthy and varied lunch every day;
  • Exclusive access to our own Gym, including classes (boxing, yoga and padel);
  • Parties and drinks that will be talked about for years to come;
