Informatie

At EcomSEO, we’re a profit-focused SEO agency dedicated to scaling e-commerce brands – especially Shopify stores. We’re a Dutch team with a global mindset, helping brands move away from the paid-ad hamster wheel and turn SEO into a reliable profit driver.

Our clients are ambitious founders and marketing leaders doing roughly €500k–€20M per year. They’ve often been burned by “snake oil” agencies and come to us for transparency, clear strategy and real revenue growth – not vanity metrics.

We’re looking for a Mid-level SEO Specialist with strong Shopify experience who wants ownership, clear impact and a long-term place in a small, high-performing team.

Tasks

In this role you will:

  • Own the day-to-day SEO performance for a portfolio of Shopify e-commerce clients (mid 6–8 figures revenue).
  • Run technical and on-page audits (crawlability, indexation, internal linking, site speed, schema, Core Web Vitals), and turn findings into clear, prioritized action plans.
  • Plan and execute keyword & topic research focused on profit, not just traffic: product/collection pages, blog pillars, clusters and FAQs.
  • Create detailed SEO implementation briefs for developers, designers and content writers (e.g. new templates, collection structures, internal linking, content outlines).
  • Optimize Shopify stores end-to-end: collections, products, blogs, navigation, filters, metafields, URL structure and on-page copy.
  • Monitor performance in GA4, Google Search Console and tools like Ahrefs/SEMrush; report on rankings, revenue, and key SEO KPIs.
  • Communicate clearly with clients in async channels (Slack/WhatsApp/Email) and occasional calls – explaining complex SEO in simple, honest language.
  • Spot opportunities for CRO and funnel improvements together with our strategists (e.g. better internal linking, intent-matched content, improved category layouts).
  • Contribute to our internal SOPs, “SEO Brain” and frameworks so every client benefits from what we learn.
  • Stay up to date with Google updates, AI/LLM developments, and e-commerce best practices – and translate them into practical actions for our clients.
Requirements

We’re looking for someone who recognises themselves in most of the list below:

Experience & skills

  • 2–4+ years hands-on SEO experience, ideally at an agency or in-house for e-commerce brands.
  • Proven results growing organic revenue for online stores (case studies or examples ready to discuss).
  • Strong Shopify experience: you understand how collections, products, blogs, navigation, filters, apps and basic theme/liquid changes affect SEO.
  • Solid technical SEO skills (sitemaps, robots, internal linking, CWV, structured data, hreflang/canonical basics).
  • Confident with GA4, Google Search Console, and at least one major SEO suite (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, etc.).
  • Comfortable writing or editing SEO-friendly copy (titles, meta descriptions, H1s, FAQ, outlines for writers).
  • Good understanding of e-commerce metrics: CVR, AOV, LTV, ROAS, revenue attribution.

Mindset & culture fit

  • You care more about profit and business impact than just rankings or traffic curves.
  • You’re transparent and honest – you’d rather tell a client an uncomfortable truth than hide behind “SEO takes time.”
  • You like taking ownership: you manage your clients, deadlines and priorities without needing micro-management.
  • You enjoy working in a small, expert team with direct feedback, clear standards and room to contribute ideas.
  • Strong written and spoken English; Dutch is a plus but not required.
Benefits

What you can expect from us:

  • Real impact: you’ll work directly on brands where SEO can move the needle on 6–8 figure revenues – not tiny side projects.
  • Deep e-commerce focus: you’ll sharpen your skills specifically on Shopify and DTC, not random local SEO clients.
  • Learning & growth: direct access to experienced e-commerce/SEO operators, internal frameworks and documentation, plus budget for courses, tools and experiments.
  • Culture of integrity: no black-hat tricks, no fake reporting. We’re obsessed with doing what’s right for the client and being radically transparent.
  • Competitive salary based on experience, plus performance-based bonuses tied to client results.

If you’re a mid-level SEO specialist who loves Shopify, cares deeply about results, and wants to help e-commerce brands escape the paid-ad hamster wheel, we’d love to hear from you.

Please apply with:

  • Your CV or LinkedIn
  • A short note on your most successful SEO project for an online store (what you did, tools used, and impact on revenue)
  • Any portfolio links, case studies or screenshots you’re proud of

We review every application and will invite selected candidates for a short intro call, followed by a more in-depth case/technical discussion.
