We are seeking an experienced Interim Sustainability Manager to spearhead the retail carbon reduction initiatives. This role demands a blend of commercial acumen and strategic vision to foster partnerships, implement impactful projects, and align sustainability efforts across various teams. In this role, you will develop and implement a comprehensive carbon strategy, delivering actionable solutions for customers. Serve as the primary sustainability liaison for operational companies (OPCOs).
This role is an opportunity to drive meaningful change in sustainability practices within the retail sector. Your expertise will be vital in shaping a more sustainable future for both organization and partners.
Build and execute a strategic carbon pillar, including delivery of carbon deals for customers;
Build long-term sustainability partnerships with international retail customers.
Serve as the primary sustainability contact for OPCOs and ensure alignment is done between the teams;
Lead (multi-OpCo) carbon projects.
Through our agency, you will receive a 6-month temporary contract.
There is a possibility that your contract will be renewed after these 6 months or that our client will make you an offer of a contract; however, we are not able to guarantee this.
- Salary will be around €6000 - €7000 gross a month, based on a full-time position (38 hours a week), and is based on education and experience.
- 30 Annual leave days;
- Travel expenses will be covered.
- Pension plan.

Functie eisen
* Commercial sustainability experience within Retail/FMCG (8+ years) and BA / MA education;* Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build international relationships and work collaboratively with diverse teams;
* Ability to translate complex sustainability topics into clear, compelling communication, bringing others along on the system change agenda;
* Intrinsic motivation for sustainability and a growth mindset.
* Strategic thinking combined with hands‑on execution (budget management, reporting);
* Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
