TECHNICAL MANAGER’S ASSISTANT

Department: Quality and food safety

Sector: Fresh produce (mainly fruits, citrus and grapes)

Reports to: Technical Manager and Managing Director

Role description

To support the Technical Manager in daily quality activities, ensuring that the received fresh produce meets the company’s quality standards.

This is a role ideal for someone eager to develop within the fresh produce industry. You are enthusiastic, solution-oriented and hands-on. You can work independently, demonstrate initiative, and have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, in English and Spanish.

QC tasks:

• Assist in reviewing and monitoring quality inspections performed by a third-party, detecting deviations from the specifications.
• Perform and/or coordinate the stock controls and outbound inspections at the warehouse, keeping a good communication channel with the operations and inspectors.
• Support the commercial team by providing quality updates about the development of the storaged goods and eventual quality claims.
• Monitor the storage conditions (i.e., hygiene, temperature, pallet condition, etc.)

QA monitoring:

• Assist in checking the labeling and packaging information (i.e., traceability, lot numbers, GGNs).
• Share with commercial team and clients, certificates and documentation related to the product and company operations (i.e., GLOBALGAP, IFS, SIZA, BRCGS, etc).
• Sample coordination for laboratory analysis.

Role requirements

• Degree or ongoing studies in Agronomy, Food Technology, Food Science, Quality Management, or related fields.
• Experience as a QC employee. Knowledge and expertise in citrus are an advantage.
• Willingness to learn about food safety standards and certifications.
• Basic reporting and documentation skills.
• Experience with quality assurance and quality systems is a plus.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken. Dutch is a plus.
• Be alert and manage stress effectively.
• Confident using digital tools (Microsoft pack), ERP systems, and communication platforms.
• Must be living in the Netherlands and legally entitled to work. Please note that we do not sponsor work visas.
