Functie omschrijving

As a Technical Nursery Grower, you will be responsible for the cultivation of Clean Stock material for the four berries at the location of Driscoll's in Helenaveen.

You will report to the Driscoll's Plants Farm Manager and work closely with other departments.

Some main tasks include:

• Daily cultivation of plants with clean stock and quality checks of plants. Troubleshooting and reporting irregularities to the team;
• Continuous improvement of fertility, IPM program, and cultivation practices.
• Providing training and instructions to seasonal workers on cultivation and plant hygiene practices, and ensuring safe working conditions;
• Ensuring timely collection and evaluation of water, substrate, and fertigation samples, and taking corrective actions as needed based on the results;
• Ensuring all collected internal database data are accurate and complete;
• Ensuring facilities and all necessary equipment are checked and in good condition, maintained/calibrated, and available for employees to perform their duties;
• Providing assistance as needed in research activities in the nursery;
• Providing support to visiting Driscoll's colleagues and invited external companies.

Functie-eisen

• A completed relevant education (e.g., Plant Sciences);
• At least 2 years of professional work experience in horticulture;
• Possess technical expertise in substrate/fertigation and best management practices in a field and greenhouse environment;
• Continuous improvement mindset;
• Excellent written and communication skills;
• Good command of English is required;
• Technical writing skills to develop and document SOPs/BMPs;
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office;
• Valid European driver's license.
