Roti & Chai Restaurant in Utrecht specializes in traditional cuisine featuring curries and dishes prepared in the tandoor, also known as a clay oven. To expand our kitchen team, we are looking for 2 Independent Working Chefs (Zelfstandig Werkend Kok Level 1). We provide an internal onboarding and training program.

Ter uitbreiding van ons keukenteam zoeken wij 2x Zelfstandig Werkend Kok 1. Wij zorgen voor een intern inwerk en opleidingstraject.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepare ingredients and carry out mise en place
• Apply basic cooking techniques and prepare dishes according to recipes.
• Work with fresh ingredients and contribute to the quality, taste, and presentation of dishes.
• Provide input on the composition and modification of menus, menu items, and preparation methods.
• Manage inventory and ordering, including checking deliveries and ensuring stock rotation according to the FIFO (First In, First Out) principle.
• Provide technical guidance and supervision to kitchen assistants.

Wat ga je doen?

• Zelfstandig voorbereiden van ingrediënten en uitvoeren van mise en place
• Toepassen van basis kooktechnieken en bereiden van gerechten volgens receptuur
• Werken met verse producten en bijdragen aan de kwaliteit, smaak en presentatie van gerechten
• Inhoudelijke input veren voor de samenstelling en wijziging van menu’s, menukaart en bereidingsmethoden
• Zorgdragen voor voorraad en bestelbeheer, inclusief controle van leveringen en rotatie volgens FIFOVaktechnisch aansturen van hulpkrachten.

What do we ask for:

• MBO Level 3 working and thinking level, corresponding to the Independent Working Chef profile under the DutchHospitality (Horeca) Collective Labour Agreement (CAO).
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
• Open to work on 2 locations. Main location is Roti & Chai.

What do we offer?

• Gross monthly salary between €2,600 and €3,600, depending on experience and qualifications, in accordance with the Dutch Hospitality Collective Labour Agreement (Horeca CAO).
