For our client, we are looking for a Camera Safety Operator for an industrial site in the Rotterdam Europoort area. In this role, you monitor employees who are working in confined spaces. You use camera systems and various monitoring and measuring systems to continuously monitor safety.

If you notice a dangerous situation, an unusual measurement or any other safety issue, you take immediate action according to the applicable safety procedures.

The industrial sector operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That is why flexibility is important in this position. You must be willing to work different shifts, including day, evening and night shifts. Weekend and public holiday work may also be part of your schedule.

No two days are the same. You will work in an environment where alertness, quick decision-making and responsibility are essential.

What will you do?

As a Camera Safety Operator, you monitor ongoing activities and actively contribute to a safe working environment.

Your responsibilities include:

• Monitoring work activities in confined spaces using camera systems;
• Registering employees entering and leaving confined spaces;
• Checking whether safety regulations and work permits are being followed;
• Monitoring measurement values, including LEL and O₂ levels;
• Identifying and reporting unsafe situations and actions;
• Recording measurement results and other relevant information;
• Helping prevent fires, incidents and accidents through continuous and alert monitoring;
• Taking immediate action according to established procedures in case of alarms, emergencies or technical malfunctions;
• Identifying potential risks and thinking along about suitable solutions;
• Maintaining contact with employees and other colleagues involved in the work.

You are an important link between the activities on site and overall safety. That is why it is essential that you remain focused and alert at all times.

Working days and hours

You will work full-time according to a flexible and rotating shift schedule. Since the industrial sector operates 24/7, you must be available for different shifts.

Your schedule may include:

• Day shifts;
• Evening shifts;
• Night shifts;
• Weekend shifts;
• Public holidays.

Flexibility is essential for this position. You must be willing to work different shifts and adjust your working hours according to the schedule and operational planning.

• Small fire extinguishers and firefighting equipment;
• Gas measurement training: EX-OX-TOX;
• Operator training.

• You have a valid medical fitness certificate or are willing to obtain one;
• You understand that safety always comes first.

Experience in an industrial environment, safety or working as a safety watch is an advantage, but not required. We are especially interested in your sense of responsibility, attention to detail and willingness to learn.
