Informatie
At Just Brands, we build menswear brands with character. PME Legend, Cast Iron and Vanguard each have their own voice, their own audience and their own place in the market. Behind strong product sits a supply chain that’s not only efficient, but responsible. Materials, chemicals and regulations are moving fast and the expectations around circularity are rising just as quickly. This role sits right where product reality meets ESG ambition: making sure what we make is safe, compliant and designed to reduce impact over time.
But what really sets us apart is how we work together.
We’re a team-first business. No ego, no unnecessary layers, no endless talking, no corporate theatre. We back each other, speak up, take ownership and keep pushing for better. We work hard, stay sharp and make sure there’s room to enjoy the ride too.
That’s where you come in.
Why this role mattersThis is where compliance becomes real product change. As our CR Material & Chemical Compliance Specialist, for 20 - 24 hours a week, you own the chemical compliance framework across our supply chain and help drive circular material principles into the way we design and develop product. You are the key point of contact for product-related ESG topics around chemical risk, material impact and circular design principles like durability, repairability and recyclability. You are not here to write policies that sit on a shelf.
You are here to set clear standards and make sure circularity shows up in real product decisions.
What you’ll do
- Own and implement our chemical compliance framework, including RSL management, chemical risk assessments and risk-based testing coordination;
- Develop and maintain policies and guidelines for chemical compliance and circular material-related ESG requirements;
- Ensure supplier compliance with company standards for chemical safety and product compliance, including corrective actions when needed;
- Assess chemical risks in materials and production processes (e.g. dyeing and finishing) and translate them into improvement actions;
- Drive the implementation of circular material principles to reduce product impact and improve recyclability and durability;
- Translate material and circularity requirements into clear, practical guidance for Styling, Product Development and Buying teams;
- Ensure alignment with material-related regulatory requirements (e.g. ESPR), integrating chemical safety and circularity considerations;
- Identify and assess innovative materials and alternatives that meet both compliance and circularity requirements;
- Support and engage suppliers and external partners (labs, NGOs, etc.) to align on chemical, material and circular standards.
What makes this role exciting
- You sit at the intersection of product, supply chain and ESG impact;
- You work on three distinct menswear brands with real scale and reach;
- You turn complex regulation into clear standards and real execution;
- You help shape how circularity shows up in materials and product design, not just in reporting;
- You get ownership to build frameworks that actually change how the business works;
You’ll probably love this role if you…
- enjoy combining technical expertise with practical business impact;
- like translating complexity into clarity people can act on;
- care about product safety, compliance and sustainability with equal seriousness;
- feel comfortable influencing different teams without relying on hierarchy;
- prefer building workable standards over writing perfect theory;
What you bring
- HBO/Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Textile Engineering, Supply Chain or similar (or equivalent experience);
- 3+ years of relevant experience in chemical compliance and/or materials in textile/apparel;
- Strong experience with Restricted Substances Lists (RSL) and supplier implementation;
- Proven experience with risk assessments and coordinating chemical testing, including interpreting results;
- Knowledge of key legislation and standards such as REACH, AFFIRM and material/circular requirements like ESPR;
- Experience with materials innovation and circular material strategies, and the ability to translate ideas into real application;
- Strong stakeholder skills and cross-functional collaboration experience, including working with external partners.
What Just Brands is really likeWe’re team first. We challenge each other with respect, make clear decisions and take ownership of what we do. No ego. Just honest conversations, practical action and a team that enjoys building something better together.
You’ll join a company where:
- People help each other out;
- Ideas and people matter more than job titles;
- Hard work matters, and so does enjoying the ride;
- If something can be better, we improve it.
What you getYou step into a role with real responsibility and real influence on how we manage materials, chemicals and circularity across the business. You’ll work with teams and suppliers to build standards that hold up in practice and help reduce product impact in measurable ways.
- Competitive salary;
- Strong benefits
- Staff discount
- Room to grow
- A team with pace, ownership and no ego.
Ready to raise the standard for materials and compliance?Still reading? Good sign.
