The Position:

For our locations we are looking for:

• Independent Chef-I in Hilversum
• Independent Chefs-I in Utrecht

As a chef at Surya, you safeguard the quality and authenticity of our dishes, combining tradition with modern presentation.

Tasks:

• Assess and prepare the quality of products/ingredients
• Prepare and present dishes according to recipes and quality standards
• Carry out preparatory work (cutting, mixing, etc.) and perform interim quality checks
• Responsible for inventory and order management
• Keep the kitchen and equipment clean; identify and resolve minor malfunctions
• Provide technical guidance to assistants
• Contribute to the composition and modification of menus, dishes, and methods
• Think along about improvements in the kitchen

Our requirements:

• Vocational education level 3 (MBO) working and thinking level
• Demonstrable knowledge of basic cooking techniques
• Good communication skills in English and/or Dutch
• Creativity, passion, eye for detail, and team spirit
• Flexibility and ability to work under pressure

What We Offer:

• Salary in accordance with the hospitality collective labor agreement: €2.550 – €3.050 per month (depending on experience)
