As a forklift driver/order picker in De Lier, you make sure orders leave the warehouse on time and in top quality. Speed, precision and hands-on work — that's what this role is about.

You'll be working for a wholesaler of fresh vegetables and fruit, based in the Westland region — the heart of Dutch horticulture. Quality comes first here: from the initial check on arrival to preparing orders for shipment. The company supplies customers daily who rely on freshness, punctuality and quality, which calls for a team that works precisely, quickly and with commitment.

The work environment is practical and no-nonsense: you'll work in a cooled storage and packing facility, alongside colleagues who understand what's at stake when an order doesn't leave on time. The pace is high, but there's also attention to a good atmosphere on the floor. New colleagues are properly trained, so you'll quickly get to grips with the process and know what to look out for when assessing vegetables and fruit.

As a forklift driver/order picker, you prepare orders for shipment in an environment where vegetables and fruit take centre stage. You drive the forklift through the warehouse, collect the right products and put together orders based on picking lists. You keep a close eye on quality: is the product fresh enough, is the packaging correct, is the quantity right? Mistakes in this process are noticed by the customer immediately, so precision comes first.

You work day shifts, generally from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm (summer period) or from 8:45 am to 5:00 pm (rest of the year), Monday to Friday. The pace is high, especially during peak times, but you're not on your own — you work in a team where colleagues support each other.

No two days are exactly the same: one day you might pick mostly smaller orders, the next it's all about large volumes that need to go out quickly.

• Collecting and preparing orders for shipment based on picking lists
• Operating a forklift throughout the warehouse
• Checking the quality and freshness of vegetables and fruit
• Packing and labelling orders
• Flagging discrepancies in product or quantity
• Working with colleagues to meet deadlines

• Experience as an order picker and/or forklift driver, with a valid forklift certificate
• Precise and quality-focused, even under time pressure
• Willing to work day shifts, with occasional overtime
• Good command of English (spoken and written)
• Has his own accomodation

• €14.99 gross per hour, rising to €15.68 gross per hour with extensive work experience

• Overtime allowance in line with the Wholesale Fruit and Vegetables CAO, calculated on your base hourly rate (overtime is occasional)

• 8% holiday allowance, paid weekly

• Travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometer

• Weekly salary payment

• 26 vacation days

• Pension accrual: 23.4% of the pension base

• Minimum working week of 40 hours, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime opportunities
