Informatie

If only you worked in the film industry…. everything is possible there! But it’s the fact that reality is different that makes you enjoy your work. What the customer wants, is that even possible? You are the one with the answers!

Tasks

As a Structural Engineer you are responsible for complex engineering issues
concerning concept/basic designs in ship and yacht building. Structure analyses, feasibility studies and continuous optimization are important. And how can you improve cost efficiency through, for example, weight reduction or adjustments to the construction procedure?

Your work includes:

  • Making FEA calculations, such as strength, fatigue, buckling and stiffness calculations to check and adjust the hull construction and designs.
  • Although your position is focused on Structural Engineering, it would be a plus if you also have some experience with design and 3D/2D software.
  • Structural analysis using FEM
  • You will work closely with the naval architects, who will deliver the initial concept, as well as the engineers who will detail the models.
Requirements

You have quite some years experience in the yacht/shipbuilding or offshore. Thanks to your wide experience as a Structural Engineer, you know how to continuously improve designs. When recalculating designs, you always know how to innovate within your own discipline. And of course the increasingly sustainable solutions are central. You like to be involved in the complete project, from pre-design to concept drawings, and you certainly do not skip R&D.

In addition, you preferably have:

  • A completed Bsc/Msc degree in a technical direction and extensive experience with engineering activities
  • Wide experience with structural analysis using FEM (ANSYS/Abaqus/Femap etc).
  • You have strong communication skills in English, both in speaking and writing. Dutch is a preference
  • EU citizenship required
Benefits
  • Excellent primary and secondary working conditions
  • Challenging projects within ship and yacht building and offshore
  • Development is important in our business, which is why we support and encourage you in your personal development
  • Personal contact and clear communication
  • Relocation support

Are you ready for a new challenge and do you think that this role is a perfect match for you? Or have you just become curious about the possibilities Mobeco can offer you? Please contact us.
