Business Controller (TEMP)

We are seeking a temporary business controller to join a large international energy company located in Amsterdam. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team at the forefront of renewable energy, working across multiple European countries. You will be instrumental in providing financial oversight, supporting performance management, and driving data-driven decisions to enhance the profitability and success of the operations.

In this position, your main responsibilities will include:

• Contribute to steering the business planning cycle, including setting targets, monitoring progress, analyzing deviations from goals, forecasting outcomes, and recommending corrective actions;
• Deliver well-structured and consolidated financial insights at the Business Area (BA) level, ensuring consideration of business drivers and maintaining high reporting quality;
• Provide reliable financial data and business analysis to both departments and managers in the BA and Operational Unit (OU), while proactively supporting and challenging them to meet strategic goals;
• Assist in the monthly management reporting process by preparing and analyzing financial performance updates for both BA and OU teams;
• Collaborate with the controlling teams in identifying performance gaps, recommending improvements, and implementing corrective measures to drive operational efficiency;
• Support digital transformation efforts and enhance finance processes, systems, and reporting tools;
• Lead and support financial planning and performance evaluation for projects within the Operational Unit, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities;
• Contribute to investment planning, portfolio evaluations, and the fulfillment of legal and regulatory reporting obligations;
• Engage in continuous improvement of controlling practices and tools, with a focus on supporting project managers and departmental leads in optimizing financial outcomes.

This is a temporary assignment that will start immediately and will last for 7 months. It will be a fixed monthly salary depending on your skills in experience. We cannot accept freelancers for this position.
