About the role
Due to constant growth and development, we have an exciting new opportunity within our engineering team. The position involves extensive international travel, and flexibility is expected from the post holder.
Job Title:
Field Service Engineer
Location:
Netherlands, Rotterdam, with expectation to travel to company’s other workshops. This job role involves extensive international travel worldwide.
Working Pattern:
Monday to Friday, 08:00 am to 04:00 pm, with overtime available.
Responsibilities:
- Servicing and repairing of exhaust gas turbochargers.
- Working on turbochargers installed in ships of all sizes and at land-based power plants.
- Minimising downtime is critical. There will be times when the engineer will be required to work on a job for a sustained period to meet the customer’s needs
- Working in the company’s workshop and live within commuting distance.
About the Person
- A minimum of two years of experience working in a marine engineering position
- A minimum of two years of experience working on turbochargers manufactured by ABB/Accelleron, MAN or MET (essential)
- Experience of working on new generation turbochargers (desired)
- A problem solver and capable of working independently
- Prepared to spend long periods of time away from home, including weekends with a flexible and positive attitude to work
- Experienced in using measuring equipment, recording results and comparing against expected data
- Excellent written and spoken English with report writing skills
- To hold a valid driving licence.
