We are Wok & Go, a Chinese wok restaurant, and we are looking for a passionate Independent Chef (Chef de Partie) to join our kitchen team.

Are you a skilled chef who feels at home in the kitchen? As an Independent Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting dishes and meal components. You will work under the supervision of our head chef or owner, but you must also be capable of running the kitchen independently when needed.

You will work closely with fellow chefs and, when necessary, supervise kitchen assistants. You will follow established recipes, ingredient guidelines, preparation methods, and presentation standards. Weekend work is required, and you must be available during both daytime and evening shifts. Working hours and schedules are flexible.

Tasks

Key Tasks

  • Select, prepare, and process ingredients (washing, cutting, mixing, etc.)
  • Monitor food quality during preparation, including taste, texture, color, and cooking level, and make adjustments when necessary
  • Maintain consistent food quality and hygiene standards
  • Manage inventory, order ingredients, and check deliveries
  • Clean kitchen equipment, workstations, and the kitchen environment on a daily basis
  • Report technical issues and resolve minor equipment problems when possible
  • Provide input on menu development, menu updates, and preparation methods

  • You are proactive and able to work independently while taking initiative.
  • You have a solution-oriented mindset and can handle challenges effectively.
  • You work with confidence and are willing to take responsibility.
  • MBO Level 3 working and thinking level, or equivalent vocational education.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of fundamental cooking techniques.
